Oh I love it <3 looking forward to the next chapter! You are one of my favourite writers, even though some of your works are so damn sad. But maybe that's what draws me in.
thank you so much! I promise a happy end for this one but there are dark things coming, brace yourself. No idea why it always gets so bleak, it's not that I don't like fluff... just somehow it doesn't happen much in my writing...
Yey a happy end! Sounds good. Until then I'll enjoy your style and the angst :) I can relate so much to what you're saying. I LOVE reading fluff, but in my own writing, it's mostly absent. If I try to keep it on a lighter note, I mostly abandon the story since it doesn't seem relevant to me. But I love reading it, so I don't know :)
Isn't it strange? we seem unable to adapt certain styles no matter how hard we try?! because yes, if a story gets too far away from me I feel kinda alienated with my own writing...
That's exactly it! It's also why I've given up on my dream of writing fiction for a living. Nobody would want to read the messed up shit I have in my head. So nowadays I'm mostly writing academic stuff, and fictional stuff for myself. I guess it's also working for me... do you also publish stuff? You certainly got the talent?
Listen, people actually like to read my messed up stuff so... I mean, it's totally up to you how much/what you want to share when it comes to your writing but I wrote a really bleak story and it's my most successful story ever. I got so many great comments of people connecting with the story BECAUSE it was so dark and hopeless and the characters were kinda broken. It helped me to write them and apparently it helped many readers to see them like this. Maybe because they saw a bit of themselves in them? What I mean is, write what you want to write, don't cater to anyone's perceived tastes or fic tropes or whatever. Readers usually cherish this kind of honesty. Anyway, yes, I have published books, but it's non-ficiton, history... Though I haven't given up the dream to someday really publish a novel :)
